Tube Amp Guru
Kye Kennedy is an expert in the field of tube-driven guitar amplifiers. Vacuum tubes (or valves) ruled the electronics world until the advent of the transistor in the 1960s. Transistors are smaller and cheaper to duplicate and are fine for most electronic applications...but as far as electric guitars go, they cannot duplicate the warm, rich, responsive sounds of classic and vintage tuble amplifiers.
Kye is an amp restorer, builder, modifier and troubleshooter who has the experience and the ear to bring out the best in an amp, return it to its original specifications, or push it over the edge. He also builds custom amps and electronics to suit the needs of a wide variety of professional musicians and enthusiasts.
Kye is currently based in Nashville, TN, but travels frequently, both as a performing musician and valued stage technician.
